This LS Swap Kit is sold as off road use only. It may not meet emissions standards or be road legal in certain states or countries. For road use, it is up to you (the user) to research the requirements in your jurisdiction and to make the correct parts and engine choices.

NO EMISSIONS CERTIFICATION

This kit does NOT have a CARB Executive Order (EO). LS-swapped vehicles may fail emissions or inspection in California and other CARB-aligned states.

You are responsible for verifying the legal status of this swap in your jurisdiction. We have an emissions guide, but all the information provided there is not guaranteed for accuracy and should be fact checked. The best way to get accurate information, is to speak to a referee or official in your jurisdiction.

TRANSMISSION & DRIVETRAIN NOTICE

The Rover ZF 4HP22/24 transmissions are not rated for very high horsepower applications. We recommend a stock 5.3L motor for the best longevity. Golden Rovers provides no guarantee regarding transmission lifespan or compatibility with modified or high-horsepower engines. It is up to you to research and decide the power level you can put your transmission through, and any upgrades you may need to make to your transmission.

INSTALLATION REQUIRED BY A QUALIFIED PERSON

This kit requires advanced mechanical skill, including engine removal & installation, correct engine parts selection, engine parts assembly, correct fastener torquing, wiring integration, and more. Incorrect installation can cause damage or personal injury.

Golden Rovers is not liable for issues arising from improper installation, wiring, tuning, or use of incompatible components.

FITMENT & COMPATIBILITY

Fitment applies only to the specific engines and Land Rover Discovery 2 models listed. Variations in vehicle condition may require trimming, adjustment, or fabrication. Any Land Rover models other than the Discovery 2 are not tested yet and will not be compatible with all of our parts. 

You are responsible for selecting compatible LS engines, ancillary parts, ECUs, sensors, and accessories.

NO GUARANTEE OF PERFORMANCE OR RELIABILITY

Because every swap is unique, Golden Rovers does not guarantee specific horsepower, fuel economy, drivability, or reliability outcomes.

All results depend on engine health, tuning, installation quality, and individual build choices.

ELECTRICAL & ECU INTEGRATION

Custom electronics (e.g. CKP emulator) interface with factory systems but may not replicate full OEM functionality. Incorrect wiring can cause ECU damage. Incorrect integration of LS and Rover electronics can cause damage as well.

The user assumes all responsibility for verifying safe and correct wiring and installation.

SAFETY SYSTEMS

Engine swaps may impact ABS, traction control, cooling systems, emissions systems, and other factory safety features.

Vehicle operation after modification is at the user’s own risk.

ERRORS AND OMISSIONS

All information provided in this guide should be fact checked for accuracy. We do our best to provide accurate information but errors and omissions can happen.

WARRANTY

Kit components are warranted against manufacturing defects and unexpected failure only when used as instructed.

This warranty does not cover:

• Improper installation

• Abuse, racing, or off-road damage

• Incorrect or unsafe tuning

• Failure of OEM components

• Damage to non Golden Rovers parts such as engine, transmission, wiring, etc.
