Remove Front Grille
Disconnect the old condenser fan
Remove the 4 8mm bolts holding the fan in place
You will need to remove the plastic "box" covering the hood latch mechanism.
You will need to move the two diagonal crossbars out of the way
Remove the top and bottom support bars. They are held by 4 bolts. The bolts on the right only need to be loosened because the bars are slotted.
Start by installing the bottom rail, slotted side on the right.
Bolt it up and tighten. You can use the original bolts or the new ones provided.
Repeat for the top rail. The press fit nuts should be sticking out towards the condenser.
Join the two fans together using the joiner clips.
Place both fans in front of the consenser, bottom in first.
Sneak fast the AC hose and set the fans in place with the right fan pushed up against the AC drier.
Make sure the fans are sitting flat up against the condenser and are not snagged on anything.
Secure the fans with the 4 clips and 4 bolts.
2 on top, 2 on the bottom.
If everything looks good, tighten the 4 bolts
Mount the temperature sensor using the little bracket provided.
Mount the relay in your preferred location. We chose this motor mounting screw.
Here are the 4 relay wires and what they are for:
Red wire: Incoming power, connect to battery
Blue wire: Outgoing power, connect to fans
White wire: Signal wire positive. Connect to condenser fan trigger positive (black/brown wire)
Black wire: Signal wire negative. Connect to condenser fan trigger neative (black wire)
Strip and twist together the two red wires from the fans.
Crimp them to the blue wire on the relay using a yellow butt splice.
Strip and twist together the two black wires from the fans.
Crimp them to the yellow 1/4" ring terminal and connect them to any body ground. You can use a self tapping screw to a body panel if you can't find a good pre-existing bolt.
Now connect the trigger wires.
Find the two wires that used to power the old condenser fan. Cut off the plug. There should be a black wire and a black with bnrown stripe.
Strip both wires and twist the ends.
Connect the black wire to the black wire from the relay
Connect the black/brown wire to the white wire from the relay
Now, connect the red wire from the relay to the fuse holder using a yellow butt splice.
Run the other end of the fuse holder wire to the battery.
Crimp the yellow 5/6" ring terminal to the end of the fuse holder.
Use a heat gun or lighter to shrink all the tubing on all the splices you've made.
Connect the right terminal to the battery.
Finishing touches:
Protect and positive wires with wire loom
Zip tie loose wires securely to the bottom support rail
Start the car.
For the condenser fans to come on, turn the AC on full blast.
The fans won't turn on unless the ambient temperature is high enough. To bypass this, hold a hair drier to the temperature sensor.
Once the fans are on, check if they are blowing in the right direction. They should be blowing into the engine bay, through the condenser. The fans should not blow air away from the engine bay.
Everything good? Congrats! Put everything back together (diagonal bars, grille) and stay frosty!
